The Dance Mob

Saturday was the perfect day for a dance mob to celebrate National Dance Week.  Sunny and in the 60’s.

After five weeks of practice, we met at Hubbard Hall at noon to begin our three city Washington County tour.  By 4pm, we danced to Hammer’s “You Can’t Touch This” eight times.  We danced inside, on side walks, in parking lots and on lawns in front of churches and intersections.   We met up with the Greenwich Youth Group who had also been practicing for the big day.  People cheered us on by beeping their horns, pulling over and clapping, and taking pictures.

Our instructor, Gina Mammone Deibel, lead us with her never-ending energy and an unmistakable insistence to have fun.

David, AKA “Cog” filmed us and put together a top-notch video.  Here it is.

For such a small venue in such a small town, Hubbard Hall in Cambridge New York is big time.

It was quite an experience from start to finish, Pam. And yes…the video was done by a professional camera-man who volunteered his time. The result was perfect.
