Above All…

…in this world of constant challenges, sadness, and uncertainty, we’re also surrounded by beauty, promise, and goodness.

So above all,

-Strive for happiness.  The alternative is life and energy depleting.

-Forgive.  It’s lurking in your heart.  Find it.

-Laugh.  Never stop laughing, especially at yourself.

-Never ever give up.  It’s not an option.

-Be sensitive to others. Especially those you encounter who are less than polite.  Something must be going on with them.  We’ve all been there.

-Stand tall.  Hold your head up, especially if you’ve been betrayed.  Whatever it was, it probably wasn’t meant to hurt you.

-Look for the light.  In the sky, in someone’s eyes, in the darkness.  You’ll find it.  It’s there.

-Hold others up.  There’s enormous power in recognizing and promoting a fellow human being.

-Be drawn to new experiences. Even if they’re scary.  No, especially if they’re scary.  It builds character.

-Look for the good.  Especially in tragic and unimaginable happenings.  It’ll be hiding, but the little sparkle will give it away.

-Absorb the wisdom. You’ll find wisdom in people everywhere.  Young and old.  In the grocery store, the library, in the car next to you. In your friends and your foes.

-Regard Hope as a Life Force.  Because it is.  Where there’s Life, there’s Hope.

And above all, believe in yourself.  Despite fear, self-doubt, and emerging obstacles.  You are a reservoir of creativity and goodness.  Move to understand your many facets and purposes and act on them without reservation.

The world is waiting.
