Wrapping up Another Era

May 11, 2013

After almost 25 years of going to the Tulip Festival with my friend Jill, today’s day in the park was probably the last.  Why?  Jill’s moving away.  She’s selling her house, and going south — or west – just not north.  She’s seeking warmer weather and easier winters.

We brought our tarp and set up camp knowing it was going to rain.  We did crossword puzzles and had lunch under our waterproof roof.   We didn’t reminisce too much today.  We just silently wished the day would never end.

Here’s to new beginnings – for both of us.

    Dear Diane

Sounds like kind of  a SAD DAY, but keep your chin up!!, there’s always a light at the end of  the tunnel, take it from an old lady who has been around for awhile. Who knows where the road to life will lead, things sometimes look greener on the other side of the fence until you get over there sometines you have to go full circle and can still find Good things happening for the best, how or when onely GOD knows.. Take one day at a time, you have wonderful memories and maybe another place for you to take a vacation. Love You Helen

Diane-Wishing you well on your new beginnings, too. And those tulips look gorgeous in spite of the rain!

I cannot imagine life without all the fun things we do together. So I won’t! You are truly the sister I have always wanted! This is just another short break away and I know we will be together again. So, here’s to the next chapter!

what a bittersweet day for the two of you. it sounds like friendship as strong as the two of you will last as many obstacles that you will face. don’t let distance impair your friendship since it seems like it could make it stronger. enjoy the remaining time you have together. that festival looks like a nice place.
