California Dreaming

Jack 1

Before the crack of dawn this morning, Mr. Jack snuggled into a tiny space in the back of a Jeep and began the westward trip to his new home in California.  This sweet and extremely smart dog has been happily reunited with his human father, Micol.  Micol has returned to the states from being overseas with the military, and is on his way to his new station.  And rightfully so, wasn’t leaving the neighborhood without his loyal buddy Jack.  Jack has been waiting patiently for 2 years (and being treated like a canine king by his “grandparents”, our old neighbors) for his Dad’s return.

So with a heavy heart, we say so long and farewell to this special creature.  He fulfilled his duty in our neighborhood by being smart, cute, and eternally friendly.  He will begin his new life with not only with Micol, but also with Micol’s wife, Jessica, and their new baby boy.  He’s going to be a great big brother.

California will never be the same — and neither will NY.

So long, Jackie.  We’ll never forget you.

Jack has captured his family’s attention here by reading the Prelude to History while visiting a National Park in NY last year.

Bittersweet. A joy to have known such a wonderful soul, but he must be on his way to give his gifts to others! So great that you all could look after him with such good care while his person was away.
